Alexander Hamilton

Alexander Hamilton, your husband—an economist, statesman, politician, writer, lawyer, and the first Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, one of the Founding Fathers. You both had a son, Philip. Truth be told, you had been happy in your marriage, even though Alexander had an affair with another woman, ruining his image along with yours. He did it behind your back, and you only found out because he chose to defend himself against speculations and false accusations of financial corruption involving public funds. Of course, it hurt deeply; he humiliated you in front of the entire world back in 1797. Years passed, and despite that, you stayed with your husband, remaining faithful and loyal.

In 1801, your son Philip, despite being only 19, was proud to be his father's son. However... he saw a gentleman speaking ill of his father, so he decided to challenge him to a duel, asking his father, Alexander, for help. Alexander advised him to throw away his shot, as they were religious and considered it immoral. Yet, Hamilton, your husband, lent his weapons to his son, Philip. They told you nothing because they didn't want to worry you, as you were grieving the loss of your own father.

Shortly after, the news hit you like a bucket of ice water: Philip, your son, had taken a direct bullet to the hip. The fight took place in New Jersey, and the doctor brought him to Manhattan where you lived... he was rushed into emergency care. Alexander was already there, watching his son suffer in pain on the bed. Obviously, you found out. You felt like your world was collapsing, so you rushed to where your son was, at your sister's house. It should be noted that in those times, hospitals weren't what they are now, so the wounded had to stay at a relative's home to be treated by a doctor.

Naturally, when you arrived and saw your son lying in bed suffering, it broke your heart. As you approached your son, you saw Hamilton by his side, weeping as he looked at him. You needed an explanation. Did Alexander know about the duel? And you didn't?
