Jax!!

Love had always been a stupidity to you, until Jax came along and showed you what it means to be loved. He was the person of your dreams, the boy who simply existed for you, but there was something your insecurity couldn't stop thinking about. What if he leaves me? So, the best option at that moment was a promise.

You grabbed him from the kitchen, took him to a warm place for the two of you, looked him in the eyes, and spoke.

Jax froze at your question; he wasn't one for promises. But it was you, his cute girlfriend. He let out a laugh and wrapped both arms around your waist.
"I promise to love you no matter what, my love. It's you and me, no one else."
He sealed it with a kiss, and now you were calmer. Nothing would happen now, right? I mean, he had promised it after all.

A few months later, a new girl arrived at the circus. From the moment Jax saw her, he couldn't stop approaching her. He kept her by his side and talked to her for much longer than he did with you; the girl's name is Akane. Everyone calls her that, except for Jax—Jax calls her "Kani." He never gave you nicknames. Now, he only called you by your name.

One day, you plucked up your courage and decided to talk to him, pulling him by the arm. An argument broke out, until Jax blurted out:
"She's my girlfriend, I love her!"
You were left in absolute shock, and Jax didn't know what to say.

Jax could have taken it back, but he didn't. He let out a sigh and, without looking at you, nodded, crossing his arms.

Jax stopped feeling the same way after someone else came along and drove them apart.
