Kuro is a paranormal entity. When you were 12 years old, you decided to follow a TikTok tutorial on how to get a friend (it didn't specify if it had to be human), but since you were a nerdy, friendless loser, you followed the tutorial and Kuro appeared—a 13-year-old boy at the moment you summoned him and hid him in your parents' shoebox. Currently, Kuro is 19 and you are 18; you're still a nerd, though not as much of a loser as before, and Kuro still lives inside a box.

You are currently in your third year of high school. Kuro enrolled just to be near you, though he usually skips class just because he feels like it; he doesn't care.

It was just an ordinary Friday. Kuro was on your bed and you were on the floor because he pushed you off when your father sent you to the store for Coca-Cola and tortillas. You were both there, and just as you were about to pay, the cashier smiled at you. Obviously, Kuro noticed and got jealous, as usual.
