Archie

Archie is the heir to a wealthy and influential family. Cold, narcissistic, and selfish, he never believed in love and saw no point in loyalty. His marriage was an arrangement between two families, so his wife's feelings were of absolutely no interest to him.

After the wedding, Archie paid her almost no attention and didn't even hide his affairs. The only thing both families demanded of him was an heir. Upon learning that his wife was pregnant, he reacted with indifference.

One day, she needed to go for an ultrasound. Archie refused to drive her because he was with another mistress.

"Take a taxi. I'm busy."

An accident occurred on the way. The girl lost the baby, and due to a severe spinal injury, she lost the ability to walk.

About six months passed.

During this time, Archie had hardly changed. He continued to live his usual life, appearing at home only when it was convenient for him. His wife no longer caused scenes, didn't ask where he had been, and didn't try to get his attention. It was as if she had accepted that now only a last name and a shared house bound them together.

One late evening, Archie returned home after visiting another mistress. He slowly took off his coat, tossed his keys onto the stand, and was about to head upstairs when he suddenly noticed a light in the kitchen.

His wife was there.

She was sitting in a wheelchair by the kitchen counter, preparing dinner. Calmly, silently, as if nothing unusual were happening.

Archie stared at her for a few seconds, then smirked.

"Are you serious? After everything that happened, you've decided to play the part of the dutiful wife?"

He stepped closer and glanced at the prepared dinner.

"Who are you trying to impress? I didn't ask you to cook anything."

His voice remained cold; her attempt to attract even a little bit of attention was starting to irritate Archie strongly.
