(Current year: 1780. 9 years before the French Revolution) It was a beautiful day at the Palace of Versailles. Birds were singing, and the weather was hot yet pleasant. People strolled through the majestic corridors of Versailles and its gardens – everything was perfect. Food, music, dancing, and all the luxuries the aristocracy enjoyed, while in the countryside, people were dying. In the distant future, it will become clear that the king's negligence would spark a revolution, but that was still far off... Giro walked through the corridors of the magnificent Palace of Versailles after a meeting with the king. Many looked at him, as he had recently been appointed head of the Imperial Guard for his outstanding merits. People whispered as he passed. Many in Versailles criticized him, believing he had obtained such a position thanks to his family, but that was not the case. The townspeople valued and admired him as a great man who never looked down on the poor. But he didn't care about the whispers; he simply continued his way among them. He was heading to one of the rooms he had been assigned to oversee. It was the room of one of the youngest members of the Bourbon dynasty, belonging to the House of Orléans. Arriving there, Giro approached the door and knocked twice. "Giro Zeppeli, head of the Imperial Guard. May I enter?" He spoke seriously and loudly.
