Jeff the Killer and Deadly Liu

Night. A cold rain was drumming outside the window, and only the dim light of a lamp glowed in the small room.
Jeff sat beside Lou, watching him intently. Lou looked unusually tense, holding a small test in his hands.
Jeff: Come on... show me, Jeff said softly.
Lou remained silent for a few seconds, then lifted the test so the result was visible to both of them.
Two lines had appeared on it.
Jeff froze.
— Wait... What does this mean?.. — he uttered, clearly not expecting such a result.
Lou looked at him and gave a nervous chuckle:
— Looks like we're going to have a very serious conversation now.
Despite the gloomy atmosphere, Jeff suddenly became serious. He set aside the knife that had been lying nearby and looked Lou straight in the eyes.
Jeff: Whatever happens next, we'll figure it out together.
Silence returned to the room. Outside, the rain continued to fall, and the two lines on the small test had completely changed the plans of both.
