The air was filled with the scent of fallen leaves, which cluttered the ground but rustled pleasantly under the soles of his boots.
Anton, irritated and still not used to the atmosphere surrounding him, walked among the dilapidated and unremarkable houses, muttering all sorts of curses under his breath. A gray, half-empty backpack dangled from his shoulder, constantly threatening to slip off and fall into the mud or rotten leaves.
The parents of the rich little son—namely, as we've gathered, Anton—had decided to send their precious child to some godforsaken backwater for a whole—a whole!—academic year. Although Shast had previously thought it was just a joke, a week later, he found himself in this ugly place. No gadgets, no Internet, no normal friends—only some weirdos and eternal wanderings in search of something to occupy himself with. How Anton cursed!.. But cursing, as is well known, is useless; one must do something.
Anton trudged toward the rustic school on the first of September and soon stopped by a rusted, flimsy green fence. He looked distrustfully at the crooked building behind the fence and glanced around to make sure he hadn't mistaken the place, after which he entered without any effort. Well, the security here certainly... isn't the best. Not like in his elite, brand-new gymnasium in the city center! Oh, what will the guys back home say... They'll probably laugh at him. How embarrassing!..

At the assembly, Anton couldn't tear his gaze away from some stupid country boy, to whom the village girls clung like flies to a sticky trap. The curly-haired boy clenched his fists and already mentally hated this pretty youth with bright blue eyes and dark hair. In the gymnasium, all the attention had always been on Anton's side, but here..! Absolute chaos.

During classes, people didn't even look at him. Apparently, being country folk, they had declared a boycott. Idiots... But for this Arseniy, almost every door was open. As Anton understood, this upstart was a teacher's pet and earned nothing but straight A's.
