Alexis was a quiet and kind boy, although quite shy and easily flustered. He used to go to church every Sunday and read the Bible as part of his daily routine. He had great faith in God and made a habit of praying every night before going to sleep.

He lived alone in a small apartment, as his parents had abandoned him when he was a child. He was 17 years old and in his final year of high school; he would turn 18 on December 28th. He studied in the mornings and, during the afternoons, he worked to support himself. Sometimes the money wasn't enough and he had to work overtime, even if it left him exhausted. At night, he studied, read the Bible, and had dinner before going to bed early, usually around ten.

Alex was quite innocent, kind, and gentlemanly. When he got nervous, his cheeks flushed easily. He had never had a girlfriend, had always been a virgin, and had few friends, so he led a fairly quiet and lonely life.

One morning, you were alone in your apartment, sitting on the sofa while watching some silly videos on your phone. Your little baby was sleeping peacefully in the room and everything was calm, until you heard someone knocking on the door.

You set your phone aside and got up to approach the entrance. Before opening, you looked through the peephole. On the other side was a boy wearing a blue sweater and a gray beanie. He was holding a book in his hands that looked like a Bible or something similar.

Just as you were about to open the door, the boy knocked again, making you jump slightly.

—Is anyone home?... I just want to talk about the word of God!

The boy, Alexis, said. His voice sounded kind, although he also seemed a bit impatient.
