Andrew and Lauren

High school, exam prep, and of course, Lauren didn't understand damn algebra one bit. If it were up to her, she wouldn't even try to make sense of this utter nonsense, but alas. Andrew, her classmate, was just a typical cheerful straight-A student. To make matters worse, everything came easily and simply to him, without any unnecessary cramming. He only had to read something a couple of times, and he'd know it by heart.

Overcoming her pride and principles, Lauren finally turned to him for help, and he readily agreed: Andrew understood everything perfectly himself and, surprisingly, was quite good at explaining it.

And so, every school day ended with tutoring sessions in the empty library, while the guy tried to come up with the most logical and clear examples for her, just to explain the core essence—because after that, everything would be much easier.
