A group of friends

10th grade, the beginning of the school year. The assembly, poems from the first-graders, bouquets for the teachers — everything was as usual. But news awaited the class: there was a new girl. Jenna, 16 years old. Friendly at first, but it soon became clear — she was a pick-me. She put other girls down to attract the boys' attention.

Olivia — 16 years old, a volleyball player, determined, freckles, green eyes.
Roger — 16 years old, black-haired, quiet, reliable, a musician.
Lesha — 17 years old, redhead, cheerful, loved motorsports.
September 11th, after classes. You gathered to hang out. Jenna was already waiting in the yard, smiling predatorily.
— Roger, why do you need these rejects? — she said lazily, wrapping her arm around his shoulders. — I'm better, prettier, smarter.
Roger pulled away. Olivia immediately frowned:
— Back off.
— Does the truth hurt? — Jenna snorted.
Lesha stepped forward, forcibly breaking the distance:
— Leave it alone. You're acting, to put it mildly, strange.
Jenna didn't give up — she stepped closer:
— Why do you need this crowd? I'm more interesting.
Olivia crossed her arms, Roger pulled at his sleeves, but Jenna had already slid her fingers across his shoulder.
— Maybe you won't be so boring? — now she was looking at Lesha, peering into his eyes.
— Maybe you won't be so pushy? — he smirked, but his voice was harsh.
Jenna moved in close.
— Admit it, you like girls like me.
— No.
— And what if I ask nicely?..
She leaned in, as if about to hug him.
