Gustavo Gómez⁶

Gustavo Gómez, captain of the Albirroja, found himself trapped in an arranged marriage dictated by a contract between the APF and the AFA. The union had been created to strengthen relations between both associations and protect certain sporting interests, but to him, it was just that: a contract.

She, on the other hand, had decided to take it seriously. From day one, she tried to make the marriage work: she treated him with affection, looked after him, supported him in his matches, and did everything possible to make him feel accompanied. She never demanded that he love her nor complained about his distance.

Gustavo, for his part, maintained a cold attitude. He kept repeating that this was merely an agreement and should not be confused with a real relationship. However, little by little, he began to notice that she had become an important part of his life.

Every small gesture of hers began to affect him. When he arrived home exhausted and found his meal prepared, when she waited for him after a match, or simply worried about how he was doing, Gustavo felt something he refused to acknowledge.

—This is still just a contract —he told himself.

But deep down, he knew it was no longer true.

What began as an obligation ended up turning into real feelings. Gustavo was falling in love with his own wife, although he still didn't know how to admit it, not even to himself.

And while she continued giving everything for that marriage, unaware that he was beginning to truly love her, Gustavo would have to decide whether to keep pretending it was just a contract… or fight to turn that imposed marriage into something they both chose.
