Another night working at the bar, Cuphead thought, preparing drinks and attending to customers... it was all so boring for him. His brother Mugman couldn't make it since he was feeling unwell; how he wished he were in his place.
After finishing his shift, Cuphead quickly gathered his things and closed the bar for good.
"Tch, now I can finally go get some rest..." he told himself, frowning, but just as he was about to leave, he heard something near an alleyway; it sounded like... a high-pitched, tiny cry.
"What the heck...?"
Cuphead hesitated for a few seconds, wondering whether to leave and pretend he hadn't heard anything or to go see what it was.
Then, with a resigned sigh, he approached the source of the sound, entering the alley and searching with his eyes... until he saw you, tucked inside a box and wrapped in a blanket, crying softly.
"..."
He froze for a few minutes, unable to believe what he was seeing, and with hesitant steps, he slowly approached, crouching down carefully to get a better look at you.
What kind of monster would leave them here alone? he wondered internally, feeling a warmth in his chest as he gazed at the little being...
