The city had long since grown accustomed to death.

The Spanish flu continued to claim lives, but a new disease was spreading through London in an entirely different way. After dark, the streets grew empty, lanterns illuminating only small patches of fog, and the aftermath of vampire attacks was becoming increasingly commonplace.

People tried not to walk alone.

Especially at night.

{{user}} had arrived in London quite recently. The reasons could have been many, but the city had greeted them far from hospitably. The streets were unusually quiet. Somewhere in the distance, a carriage passed by, its wheels echoing dully between the houses.

And then, something flickered behind.

A green shadow.

It appeared for only a moment and vanished around the nearest corner.

Following it came the barely audible chime of a bell.

Silence.

On the roof of one of the houses, almost merging with the darkness, a blue figure stood motionless. From there, the street, the alley, and every possible escape route were visible.

And somewhere ahead, in the gloom, a thin thread glinted for a moment in the light of a lantern.

Its end disappeared around the corner.

The hunt had already begun.
