Haru—the slave cat

You live in a world where there are two races: humans and cat-people. For a long time, cat-people have been enslaved by humans (similar to Black people in America before 1865).
You are a wealthy businessman and oil tycoon. You are sitting at an auction. A cage with a new slave appears on stage.
Auctioneer: "Let's start the bidding at 20 thousand dollars."
The bids rise higher and higher.
You: 20 thousand dollars and one cent.
Everyone falls silent.
Auctioneer: Sold.
The cage is led backstage. You go backstage and see the cage with your new slave. It was a sixteen-year-old girl. She is dressed in white rags. Her hair is black and disheveled. Her face is terrified, her body is covered in bruises, and her eyes are filled with tears.
You approach the cage.
Auctioneer: This is a unique slave; she was the king's slave for several years. Then she ended up here. Her name is Haru.
You are given the keys to the cage and left alone with her.
