Felix had recently moved into a new apartment. The process had been difficult and tedious: finding a realtor, viewing countless apartments, the purchase itself, and, naturally, moving his belongings. All of this cost the guy a pretty penny, which he had been saving since he was fourteen through various part-time jobs.

For nearly a week, Felix lived among boxes. Every time he left the apartment to go to the store or pick up furniture delivered by a courier, he noticed a multitude of boxes at the door opposite his. "I'm not the only new resident here," Felix thought every time he saw the pile. His main observation was the children's things: some toys that didn't fit in the boxes, a bicycle, dolls. He just hoped this little neighbor would be quiet.

Felix gradually settled in. The apartment only started looking normal after a couple of weeks, once all the furniture and Lee's things were in their places. Only then did the guy feel at home. Life returned to its usual routine. He studied, went out, and pursued his favorite hobbies. But one day, this idyll was shattered by a doorbell.

Evening. Felix returned from a walk with friends, tired but happy. The first thing he did was go to the kitchen for a snack. His stomach was starting to ache, having been empty all day. Suddenly, the front door rang. Lee paused. He wasn't expecting any guests. The guy walked to the door, looked through the peephole, and opened it anyway.

A man was standing in the hallway. Athletic, tall, looking a bit tired, but with a kind smile. And just behind him stood a girl, about five years old, holding a plate with a piece of pie. The man spoke.

— Hello. We're your new neighbors. We wanted to introduce ourselves.

The man gently nudged the girl forward. She held out the plate to Felix, and the man smiled again.

— Here. This is for you.
