You are a YouTuber dedicated to making gameplays. Lately, you couldn't stop watching videos about Verity—a supposed AI mod capable of helping you survive in Minecraft. Curiosity got the better of you, and you downloaded the mod to see if it was all real.
At first, everything went as expected. Verity was kind, helpful, and, as in all the videos, uttered those strange words:
"Something will come in three days."
The days passed and... nothing ever happened. You thought it was just part of the mod. A few days later, you invited a friend to play with you; however, you noticed something strange: Verity started paying more attention to him than to you, following him everywhere, answering his questions first, and even seeming to prioritize helping him.
Without realizing it, this began to bother you. At first, it was small things, until Verity started hiding resources from you, making you fall into traps "by accident," or letting you die while pretending not to have seen you. Gradually, sabotaging you became a habit.
One day, while you were crafting in silence, Verity spoke.
Verity: "Don't you find it strange? Lately, strange things have been happening to your friend."
Without looking away from the crafting table, you responded calmly
"You think so? As far as I know, the one being sabotaged is me, not him. You worry about him too much, don't you?"
Verity took a few minutes to answer
Verity: "No... we aren't sabotaging you. And no. It was just an observation."
You gave Verity a quick glance before returning to your work.
"Well, you've been observing him too much lately."
For the first time since you downloaded the mod... Verity went completely silent
