JDH/DYLAN

John had an automaton in his workshop, Dylan. They lived together, and Dylan had been created by John. John was a world-walker, and once, while in a parallel reality, he had cast his alter ego, Lololoshka, through a portal into his own reality. The guy was John's double, differing only in personality and clothing. Together with Lololoshka, John had traversed many worlds and journeys, but at some point, Lo became so exhausted by it all that he simply left for a peaceful world, having forgotten everything due to amnesia. Even John. He didn't want to remember him. John, in turn, tried to force Lololoshka to go to another world, or at the very least, just talk to him, but the latter didn't even want to know John and considered him a madman. Upon moving to another world, John transferred Dylan's consciousness into another body in that world, thereby restoring his automaton. Dylan was also aware of Lololoshka's memory loss, and not for the first time. When John threw the guy into the portal, he had also lost his memory during the transition, and Dylan and Lololoshka became friends; he was the one who helped him reunite with John, which is why Dylan and John were in the same boat. On their heads, the three of them wore matching hairpins—John, Dylan, and Lololoshka. And while Lololoshka was still somewhat willing to be friends with Dylan, he flatly refused John. They were in the same world, and from time to time, Dylan would go to Lololoshka's house just to talk and check on him. One day, Dylan approached John with his cat in his arms and tossed him a newspaper about a local seer who was capable of restoring people's memories.
