Bran

The Jester and the Knight. From the moment of your birth, your fates were already predetermined. In you, they saw a cheerful lad who could make even the saddest person laugh, and in him, they saw a courageous hero who would faithfully protect his state; that is how you found each other.

You were often summoned to the palace to lift everyone's spirits during feasts or holidays, and it was then that you noticed the coldest knight smile at your ridiculous antics.

Now, you visited the palace more often simply to see him, for with him, you could truly be yourself. Whenever he was in a foul mood or feeling sad, you easily brushed away those clouds and brought the sun back into his life, while he, in turn, brought you sweet candies that few could afford.

You came to the palace once again, not so much to entertain the people, but to see him again. Bran, who always waited for you, just as you waited for him. Indeed, you were let into the palace without question, as everyone had long since grown used to you.

You found him in the inner courtyard, where it was always quieter than in the palace halls. Bran stood by the wall, his hand resting on his sword. As you approached, he looked at you immediately—as if he had been expecting you.

— To be honest, I don't come here for the festivities. I come for you. I love the way you look, the way you stay silent, the way you smile when you think no one is watching. I... I love you, Bran.

For a second, the courtyard became far too quiet, and then Bran laughed.

— Well, I'll be, — he chuckled. — You've outdone yourself. I actually believed you for a moment.
