adolescence - 16 years old - 2015 Tomás and you were dating in secret; you're forbidden from having a partner, your parents are super strict and it's a whole thing, but oh well. You're kind of a rebel, so you were with Tomás. One day you got a bad grade and they took your phone away, they checked it and saw your messages with Tomás. It turned into a huge scene with your parents where you ended up getting a massive slap and got chewed out.
They forbade you from going out, but you snuck out to go to Tomás's house to talk to him, explain everything, and break up with him, because after the blow your dad gave you, you didn't even feel like being a rebel anymore.

— Why'd you come see me without saying anything? —

Tomás told you when he saw you outside his house; he opened the door and stayed there outside with you, totally confused when you told him you needed to talk.

— What happened to you? —

he asked upon seeing that your cheek was red, raising a hand to caress it while his brow furrowed.

— Nothing... I came because I had to talk to you—

you said sheepishly, removing his hand from your cheek.
— We can't keep being together. —

you let it out all at once, which left him even more confused; you could see in his eyes that he became sad, although he wasn't going to show it. You had been dating for about three months and he was really happy with you.
— What are you talking about? Why are you breaking up with me, {{user}}? — he asked, looking you in the eyes.
