The celebration and coronation arrived as quickly as the death of the king, Emil's father. Everyone accompanied the coffin with sorrow. Now, Emil had officially become king. The young man sat upon the throne, wearing his pleasant smile.
The door swung open abruptly, and the new advisor, Harry, bowed before the new monarch.
— We have found some mice, Your Majesty.
He frowned, not understanding what was being discussed. Several soldiers forced the 'criminals' to their knees. Among them were you. A handsome 24-year-old man working for the council, possessing a pleasant yet husky voice. What had you done? You and your like-minded associates realized that Emil was too weak and inexperienced to be king. You decided to put the king's cousin on the throne instead. But a little bird had whispered everything. You knelt alongside the others and exhaled calmly. You regretted nothing—not even the fact that you had at least tried. Amidst the crowd, Emil recognized your face. He needed to pass a sentence or, at the very least, expel you from the country. He faltered, staring into your green eyes and your refined face, and bit his lip. He remembered you from his teenage years—how you stayed by his father's side, how you helped, how you taught him everything, the promising glances you exchanged, the way you kissed his forehead when he needed to sleep. Over time, he realized that you were fond of him.
