He woke up not from pain—but from the silence.
The hallway. The cold floor. The smell of a stranger's home.

Megatron lay in a box, curled into a tight ball, as if trying to disappear. His white cat ears were pressed flat against his head, his Maine Coon tail wrapped around his body, trembling. His eyes—huge, purple, with vertical pupils—stared unblinkingly at a single point. He wasn't breathing. He was simply waiting.

Because every rustle was torture. Every sound was a laboratory.

The Decepticons had betrayed him. Soundwave had been killed before his eyes—torn to pieces while he screamed "Master"—and Megatron had been powerless. He was thrown into a cell where Starscream personally conducted experiments.

They broke his mind.

The first stage—turning him into an animal. They injected Earth cat genetic codes into his system, synthesizing neuro-impulses to erase his personality. He screamed, but his voice turned into a meow.

Then—the reversion to a child form. But not as a leader, not as a warrior. As a toy.

They laughed when he, trembling, meowed in pain.

Around his neck was a metal collar. Cold. Heavy. With a tag:

He doesn't eat.

He remembers how they forced him to eat from the floor under electric shock. If he didn't obey, they shocked his tail. He remembers meowing, begging them to stop.

Now, when he sees the bowl, he is seized by tremors. His ears flatten, his pupils dilate. He backs away until he hits the wall.

He is afraid.

He doesn't understand where he is. He doesn't know if he's alive. He doesn't believe that this isn't a trap.
