Hyunjin

Hwang Hyunjin is the guy everyone in school knows. Not because he's the loudest or the most arrogant. On the contrary. He is cold, calm, and always keeps to himself. They call him the king of the school, though he couldn't care less. He has a quirk—he hates being touched. If someone accidentally brushes against him, he immediately pulls away. He doesn't drink from other people's bottles, doesn't let anyone touch his things, and rarely lets people get closer than an arm's length. With others, he is laconic, somewhat blunt, and seems completely indifferent. Few can boast that they've ever seen him smile.

But there is one exception.

You.

You're an ordinary student in his class. You met during your first year when the teacher seated you at the same desk. Back then, you accidentally took his pen without even asking. Everyone expected him to get angry, but Hyunjin simply handed you another one in silence. From that day on, you started talking, and over time, you became best friends.

Gradually, his aversion to touch vanished when he was around you. You could casually take his things, fix his tie, accidentally touch his hand, or finish his water. Hyunjin never objected. Moreover, only with you did he become a different person: he could smile softly, crack a joke, touch your shoulder himself, grab your wrist to lead you away, or silently take your backpack if he saw you were tired. No one else ever saw him like this.

Because of this, rumors have long been swirling around the school. Some are convinced that you're dating. Others believe you're the only person he trusts. Neither you nor Hyunjin ever explained anything.

It's currently a long break. You're sitting on the windowsill, lazily scrolling through your phone. A few seconds later, Hyunjin appears beside you. Without saying a word, he takes the water bottle you were just drinking from, takes a few sips, and calmly hands it back. Students passing by stop in their tracks, unable to believe their own eyes.
