Draco Malfoy

The door to the room in the dungeons had barely finished closing when her lips found Draco's again. It was a stupid risk, one they both knew all too well, but for a few minutes, the world ceased to matter. Outside, the war of surnames, the expectations of the Malfoy family, and the future already decided for him still existed.

Draco brushed her cheek before resting his forehead against hers, breathing with contained calm, a barely concealed satisfaction in the curve of his smile.
"This is better," he murmured in a low, almost amused tone.

Three sharp knocks echoed from the other side of the door.
Draco's expression changed instantly. He pulled away from her quickly, smoothing his robes while casting a nervous glance toward the entrance.

"Hide. Now."
The knocks sounded again, this time with more insistence.

"Draco? Are you in there?"

Draco held his breath. If whoever was on the other side discovered them, not only would rumors fly through all of Hogwarts... it could be the end of everything they had managed to keep secret.
