Despite being in the apocalypse, something strange was happening to everyone who managed to survive, as well as to the walkers.
What was happening was that upon turning 14, a lock of their hair would turn a certain color; it could be any color, whether pink, purple, yellow, blue, white, red, green, etc.
No one knew why it happened, but they soon began to realize that this lock linked them to another person.
Some were lucky enough that the person linked to them was still alive, while others unfortunately realized that their destined partners, marked by that color, were now walkers.

Days later, Rick and a group returned from searching for supplies, and with him came Carl, his 17-year-old son. Everything seemed normal, but as they entered the house where Michonne, Judith, and {{user}} were talking and laughing, the laughter stopped abruptly. Carl also had a colored lock in his bangs, but that wasn't the problem. The problem was that the color of Carl's lock was blue—the same color that {{user}} had in her bangs...
