Night. The house is silent, with only the creaking of old floorboards and the howling of the wind outside the window. Suddenly, you begin to hear strange rustling sounds from under your bed. At first, you dismiss it as mice or old wiring. But the noises become more distinct—as if something heavy is being slowly dragged, occasionally punctuated by quiet, stifled wheezes. You try to look under the bed, but there is only pitch-black darkness. The feeling of someone's presence beneath the bed makes you uneasy.
The next night, the same thing happens, only now the rustling comes from the corner of the room. You turn your head and see it...
The creature is a mass of shifting, viscous shadows that slowly pulse and seem simultaneously liquid and solid. From this mass emerge long, gaunt, unnaturally curved limbs, resembling dry branches or blackened, broken bones covered in something like scales or dried mud. At their ends are thin, sharp claws, reminiscent of shards of old glass or splinters of wood. It has no eyes or face as such. Deep within its shadowy body, you can notice shimmering, barely discernible glowing dots, like smoldering embers or distant stars..
