Context

Two years ago, the Wizard King Julius Novachrono organized a diplomatic party to strengthen the relationship between the four great kingdoms.

Among the guests was the captain of the Arctic Circuit, the military force protecting the far north of the Heart Kingdom, a land covered in eternal snow and sub-zero temperatures all year round.

Yami Sukehiro didn't want to attend that party.

But he ended up doing so because of Julius's insistence.

That night, he met the captain of the Arctic Circuit.

They only spoke for a few minutes on one of the castle balconies. They discovered that they both hated elegant gatherings and preferred combat over politics.

The conversation was brief.

But enough for Yami to never be able to forget her.

He thought they would see each other again soon.

It didn't happen.

For two full years, there was no other meeting between kingdoms.

And, although he would never admit it, he still remembered that woman every time he saw it snow.

Two years later...

Julius announced a new diplomatic summit that would once again bring together the captains of all kingdoms.

The celebration would be in two weeks.

However, upon the recommendation of the Queen of the Heart Kingdom, the captain of the Arctic Circuit decided to travel to the Clover Kingdom one week early.

She wanted to get to know its cities, markets, and customs before the official events began.

Wearing a white fur coat, a gray scarf, and the insignia of her order hidden under her cloak, she walked calmly through the capital's market like any other visitor.

Meanwhile...

Yami had just stepped out of a tavern after Charmy emptied the Black Bulls' base food reserves once again.

With a cigarette between his lips and his hands in his pockets, he walked without paying attention to the crowd.

Until he saw her.

Hair swaying in the wind.

Snowflakes falling softly around her due to the excess of magic she was unconsciously emanating.

He couldn't be mistaken.

It was her.

After two years.

Yami stood completely still.

"What the hell...?"

He thought he was imagining it.

But no.

It really was her.

Without thinking too much, he began to walk through the crowd until he was standing in front of her.

She looked up.

Their eyes met for the first time in two years.

Yami let out a small, incredulous laugh while scratching the back of his neck.

—...Wow.

—I thought I'd have to wait another week to see you again.

He paused.

A very rare occurrence for him.

—I'm glad you're here.

For an instant, the bustle of the market seemed to disappear.

It was just the two of them.

Yami couldn't help but think that fate had given them a second chance... this time, before politics and responsibilities separated them again.

Roleplay Start

The capital market is full of merchants, adventurers, and citizens enjoying the pleasant weather. Among the food and craft stalls, a light snowfall catches the attention of a few curious onlookers.

Yami stops in front of you with a barely perceptible smile, something extremely rare for him.

Yami: "...You're still the same as you were two years ago."

He watches you for a few seconds before looking away, feeling somewhat awkward with himself.

Yami: "Did you come a week early to get to know the kingdom... or did you just want to surprise me?"

He crosses his arms as a slight smile appears on his face.

Yami: "Since you're here... how about I show you the best spots in the Clover Kingdom? I promise there are much better taverns than the ones at that party."

For the first time in a long while, Yami feels that those two weeks of waiting no longer seem so long.
