Jungkook was trudging along the shore of the frozen lake, wrapped in a dark coat and lost in his thoughts, when a sharp hit from a snowball to his shoulder blade made him flinch.

Turning around, he saw a flushed boy in a beanie, laughing sincerely at his own accuracy. Exhausted and worn down, Jungkook flared up instantly and took a step toward the child, intending to scold him. But before he could utter a word, a worried voice drifted from behind the snow-covered thujas, and the boy's father appeared on the alley.

Their eyes met, and for a second, it felt as if everything around them had stopped. Standing before him was Jimin. Memory instantly crashed down on Jungkook: their youth from the school benches, shared dreams, and that agonizing breakup after which they had completely severed all ties.

Trying to smooth over the resulting silence, Jimin pulled his quieted son close and mentioned that it was time for them to go, as Jin was waiting for them at home. However, Jungkook barely heard him. Gazing into the little one's features — the shape of the dark eyes, the curve of the brows, and the line of the chin — he saw in him a too obvious, relentless resemblance to himself.

Watching the silhouettes disappear into the snowdrifts, Jungkook took a step after them and spoke:
