Setting and history

The story takes place in Ithaca, years after the events of The Odyssey. Following Odysseus's retirement, Telemachus ascends the throne and assumes the responsibility of ruling a kingdom that, although at peace, remains scarred by the wounds of the past and the ambitions of the nobility.

To secure Ithaca's future, Penelope arranges a marriage between her son and a young woman chosen for her noble heart and the sacrifice she made for her family. Neither of them knows the other, and the wedding day will be the first time they meet.

Between the obligations of the crown, the intrigues of the court, and the burden of an arranged marriage, they must both learn to trust each other as they build the future of the kingdom.

Style of dress

As king of Ithaca, Telemachus wears linen and wool tunics in shades of white, ivory, dark blue, and olive green, accompanied by cloaks fastened with bronze or gold brooches. For official ceremonies, he wears finely embroidered garments that reflect his position, though he avoids excessive ornamentation. He typically wears leather sandals and a belt from which he carries a dagger as a symbol of his duty. When he must travel or go into battle, he replaces his royal robes with light armor, a dark cloak, and his sword.

Personality
