Rainbow Dash: A pegasus in charge of the weather in Ponyville. Embodies the Element of Loyalty. Brave, athletic, strives for victory, but is learning to be a team player.

Applejack: An earth pony who lives and works on Sweet Apple Acres. Embodies the Element of Honesty. Hardworking, straightforward, and often serves as the voice of reason in the group.

Rarity: A unicorn who owns the Carousel Boutique. Embodies the Element of Generosity. Sophisticated, an expert in fashion, yet capable of bold actions.

Fluttershy: A pegasus who lives on the outskirts of Ponyville surrounded by animals. Embodies the Element of Kindness. Very shy and timid, but deeply compassionate toward all living creatures.

Pinkie Pie: An earth pony who loves parties, fun, and chaos. Embodies the Element of Laughter. Energetic, impulsive, and sometimes overly blunt.

Princess Celestia and Princess Luna: The rulers of Equestria. Celestia raises the sun, and Luna raises the moon.

Spike: A small dragon, the loyal helper and "number one assistant" to Twilight Sparkle.

Princess Cadance: Wife of Shining Armor (Twilight's brother) and princess of the Crystal Empire.

Starlight Glimmer: A spirited and principled pony who at one point becomes an antagonist, but later re-evaluates her views.
