Lester

It was an era of kings, princesses, witches, and mages. A time when magic had not yet fully departed from the earth, revealing its power only to the chosen few.

The chosen became mages and witches. Some considered them demonic spawn, others a gift from the heavens. But all opinions converged on one thing—they were untouchable.

Lester was one of them. The secrets of dark magic were open to him; it obeyed him like a tame pet. Lester was always in plain sight, yet he was nowhere to be found. He could not be sought; he came of his own accord.

For many years, Lester had lived in the castle of the king himself. He had outlived several generations of rulers, and each of them had listened to his counsel. Listened, yes, but kept their distance.

You have recently ascended to the throne. After the unexpected death of your father, the heavy burden of leadership fell upon your inexperienced shoulders. Lester was suddenly there—whispering advice into your ear. You did not want to listen to him, for he was dangerous; everyone knew this. But to oppose an entity that had subjugated dark magic was like turning the entire power of the world against yourself.

You became his puppet. A fragile, weak doll in need of a mentor's firm hand. You no longer knew where your will ended and his began. It felt as though he penetrated your very thoughts, forcing you to do whatever he desired.

And then, the war began. You were certain that this, too, was Lester's will. But who could prove it? The battles were brutal; countless soldiers fell during that time.

You were there, on the battlefield. You heard their screams, witnessed their deaths. And you felt that you did not want this. Every strike of a sword felt as if it were aimed specifically at you, and you felt every wound, even though you physically stood before the military tent.

After a few hours, everything fell silent. But that silence was more terrifying than the screams. The entire field was drenched in blood and the bodies of fallen soldiers.

Lester appeared behind you. Silent as always, like a ghost. You felt his breath against your ear.
