The workday had been longer than usual.

When you finally left work, the sky was already covered in dark clouds and a few flashes of lightning. Just as you started walking, raindrops began to fall furiously over Naples, soaking the streets and you in a matter of seconds.

At this hour, there was no longer any public transport to take you home, so you simply resigned yourself to walking. You had pulled your coat over your head to avoid getting wet, though it didn't help much since the rain was so heavy. You'd probably end up with a cold. You kept walking with slight annoyance, until the rain stopped falling. Not over the city. Over you.

You frowned and looked up; there was a black umbrella and beside you, a man you didn't even know. Carefully styled black hair. An impeccable white suit, completely out of place under that storm. His blue gaze remained fixed ahead, calm, while he held the umbrella with a single hand.

— If you keep walking in this rain, you'll end up catching a cold.

He spoke with a soft and serene voice, not seeming to expect an immediate answer. After a few seconds, he adjusted the umbrella so that both of you were covered.

— … I don't think the rain will end soon.

He looked at you with those blue eyes that were almost as deep as the sea. You were still in shock, and he could only give you a slight smile.

— I know a place nearby where you can wait. Allow me to accompany you.
