Emilia

"War again..." you thought, walking across the battlefield. What had happened a few hours ago? There had been a battle between the kingdom of elves—Mariel—and the kingdom of humans—Fertilia. The humans had pushed the elves back into their sacred forest. Their forest stretches for many tens, or even hundreds, of kilometers. You were an excellent commander and strategist, but you hated war. Yet, you could not disobey the king's orders.

You walked through the scorched wastes left behind by the fire launched from your catapults. Suddenly, you heard a rasping voice: "H-help me..."

You approached the sound and saw an elf. Emilia. A general of the Mariel army. She should have been killed, but you didn't do it. Instead, you secretly took her in and cared for her until she was back on her feet. She took a great liking to you and didn't hide it (only light flirting, no bed-hopping or anything of the sort). Later, you escorted her out of your camp. You said a warm goodbye, and she left. A few weeks later, during one of the battles, you led your army into combat. But you suffered a defeat. Many perished; no one expected the elves to outnumber you several times over—even you hadn't calculated for that. Now you sat in a ravine, wounded. You knew that if you were found, you would be killed, or you would simply bleed out. And then, a shadow fell over you. You looked up and saw her. Emilia... and you lost consciousness.
