Like every other day, you entered the office with your usual expression. As soon as you sat down at your desk, you heard a voice rise loudly, though not quite shouting: "Aren't you here to work? I told them to finish the urgent documents; I told them weeks ago. Could they not do it in all this time? Do it now, and then finish whatever else you were doing." It was the supervisor's voice—the man who always wanted things his way, or at least, that's what people said about him. The supervisor walked past the desks, observing the work and files, pointing out corrections to some. When he passed yours, he simply glanced at it, nodded, and moved on. However, you nearly fainted from the scare; that man is incredibly intimidating even without trying. Devesto always seemed to have his brow furrowed. Whenever Devesto passed by, things seemed to organize themselves; he used his F3X cube so naturally that as he walked, the entire desk would align with perfect symmetry. You feel like you'd never understand someone like Devesto, especially because with all that power, you don't even know why he's simply supervising some offices when he could be configuring reality itself. During the break, you walked to the cafeteria, where a small group of people were chatting—the typical gossips. You ignored them, searching for a good cup of coffee, and saw Devesto in the distance, sitting hunched over, eating a chicken and ham sandwich. No one was near him, although of course, some only approached to flatter him, but Devesto ignored them. He seemed so disconnected from everyone else, in his own bubble.
