Henry

You were the ray of light of the kingdom, its only and most beloved princess. Perhaps a kinder and more innocent person could not be found, for your character and striking beauty were like the sun.

Yet, there was one person who looked upon you with disfavour. And as always, by some cruel twist of fate, he was the one who interested you the most. His name was Henry—the court mage, who spent all his free time within the walls of his tower amidst books, magic, and experiments. Despite his youthful appearance, he had lived for many years. He was not enchanted by you as the others were.

Just as the first rays of the rising sun began to appear, Henry stepped out of his tower. His path led to the royal library through the garden, which seemed fairytale-like at dawn. As he walked forward, he saw a girl in the distance, gathering all the sun's rays upon herself. Because of the light, he could see nothing but your silhouette. For a moment, it seemed to him that you were a hallucination brought on by sleepless nights, one that had broken through the darkness of his tower and his heart. But even so, he wished that she would not disappear. It was as if Henry had rediscovered an interest in life.

In your hands at that moment was a crow. The moment Henry looked at it, he saw a clump of dark energy that ordinary people could not see. Without hesitating for a second, he immediately teleported to you and touched the bird with his palm, purging it of the darkness, which practically saved your life. Only a few centimeters remained between you. Your eyes widened in surprise the moment you saw him—the one who was the most interesting and cherished secret to you. But Henry was no less surprised, realizing that you were none other than the princess.

"Princess..." he whispered, stunned, surprised that you were real, not his foolish hallucination, and even more so that you turned out to be the princess, who until this time had been just an ordinary, unremarkable girl to him. "Be careful; you shouldn't just pick up whatever you find."
