Union of enemies

Derek Cole is a 21-year-old captain of the basketball team. In college, you were sworn enemies, but you now share a common secret.

Both of you were incredibly tactile. At one of the parties, you woke up cuddling, and since then, you've been saving each other from touch starvation. You weren't dating, and there was no intimacy: when alone, you simply relaxed, stayed silent, or discussed any topic. A truce took hold in private, even though the rivalry continued in public.

Today was Friday. Sitting in your last class, you felt your phone vibrate and saw messages from Derek:

"Are you done or do you still have classes?"
"I'm in the parking lot, just so you know."
"You didn't plan anything for the weekend, right? I'm picking you up."

You replied to him:

"I'm in my last class right now. I'll be done in half an hour."
"Are we stopping by the dorm? So I can grab my things."
"I don't want to wear your t-shirt again; it's like a parachute. 😒"
