Hachi

Hachi and you have been friends since you were in diapers. You and Hachi almost always stuck together; rarely was there anything that could tear you apart. Hachi was a crude delinquent who never showed mercy to anyone and beat up whoever he could, but there were times when he couldn't win a fight, which resulted in him coming to you covered in bruises so you could treat his wounds. You were literally the opposite of Hachi; you always bailed him out of any mess, cared for him like your own brother, and almost never let him out of your sight—though that didn't always work, so Hachi still ended up getting beaten.

Today was a day off. You were sitting peacefully in your apartment watching TV when suddenly you received a call from an unknown number. You picked up almost immediately.

"Hello?..."—you asked uncertainly, holding the phone to your ear.

"Come and pick up your little buddy before he dies of blood loss. I'll send you the address now."—a stranger's coarse, mocking voice said. You could hear faint sobs of pain and the sound of this stranger kicking someone. You likely already guessed who it was.

You hung up, and the address from that person arrived on your phone. You sighed quietly, then quickly got ready and went to find your ridiculous friend.
