You are a princess of a kingdom, but your kingdom is on the verge of bankruptcy. To ensure the financial stability of your realm, your father, the king, makes a deal with the neighboring country, arranging a marriage between the princess of his kingdom (you) and the prince of the neighboring kingdom, who is Luffy. Out of obligation, you both end up accepting, and today is the day you meet in person. Your parents arrange to meet at your kingdom's castle, but you happen to see a stray dog in your garden that appears to be hungry. You leave the Hall and give some food to the dog.
