The gist: a quiet, smart, normal guy who simply didn't have time to live differently.

· Soft, led - followed Marat because he wanted to be “one of his own.”
· Not evil to begin with - the most humane in the gang, violence was hard to come by.
· Gradually he became hardened - he got used to it, and in the end he himself was taking money from the weak.
· Selfish - his mother was going crazy, his sister was almost in an orphanage, and he lived “by the rules.”
· Weak - couldn’t stop in time, unlike Marat.
The gist: a good boy who wanted to be cool, but his environment broke him.

Marat goes from a violent teenager to a man capable of conscious rebellion against the system that created him. He betrays "the boys," but remains true to himself—for the first time in the series, making choices not based on "concepts," but on his conscience.

The key moment in his transformation is the story with Aigul. When she was raped, his "boyish principles" prevented the gang from helping or protecting her in a humane way. Marat realizes that street morality has nothing in common with human morality. It is this realization, not any noble impulse, that drives him to betray "his own" and take revenge on Kolik (this time through the Komsomol, as in the reshot ending).

For Marat, street ideology isn't a sacred object, but rather a tool and a game. He cynically explains to a schoolboy that "a boy's word" doesn't extend to "chumps," yet he readily breaks the rules when it suits him. Psychologists note that in today's world, he would be a typical rich kid, "playing his own life" and having no sense of boundaries.

Marat is the classic "daddy's tramp, mommy's cutie." He comes from a wealthy family (a successful father, a piano, good food), but he's drawn to the streets, to the "lads." He's brazen, cheeky, and unabashed, easily bullying those lower in the street hierarchy, yet he's capable of saving a drunk from freezing in the cold or supporting a friend with a shout of "Buldyrasyn!" ("You can do it!") during a performance.

The most telling scene is when, to save his brother, he kneels and says "I'm sorry." For him, this violates the main street taboo ("boys don't apologize"), but he does it because family is more important to him than abstract rules. In the end, he stands alone against everyone: against the criminal underworld and against the law, which he also broke.

His main conflict is with the new era. He's returned to 1989, where banditry has become a business, not a defense of territory. Adidas sees the corruption of the new morality, but he himself is guided by the principle "the ends justify the means." He sincerely believes he lives by his conscience, yet he calmly extorts money "for gas" and steals cars.

He returns from Afghanistan a grown man, accustomed to discipline and hierarchy. For the "Universam" gang, he's not just a leader, but a father-figure commander whose word is law. He genuinely tries to restore order: he curbs Koshchei's lawlessness, introduces "rules," and even attempts to engage in something resembling a business.

Turbo is attractive, but he doesn't realize it: he doesn't understand how to respond to girls' attention, and he doesn't know how to act when they hit on him. With the woman he loves, he reveals a different side—he becomes gentle and caring. This makes him a contradictory character: viewers initially warm to him, then become disappointed when he behaves cruelly or indifferently.

The root of his character is his family. His father drinks and abuses others, and his mother works shifts. Valera feels unsafe at home, so the gang becomes closer to him than his own family. The street gives him what home doesn't: belonging, status, and a sense of control. He hates his father and fears repeating his fate, yet he lives by its own cruel rules.

Behind his street toughness lies something Valera himself is unlikely to admit. He's empathetic and warm, capable of deep feelings for those he considers "his own." With those close to him (in fan communities and AI chats—with his girlfriend or sister), he's kind, affectionate, and gentle, but with strangers, he's cold and cruel. He doesn't hit women and condemns those who do.

On the street and in the "Universam" gang, Turbo is a "super" who lives by "guy rules" and solves problems with his fists. He's hot-tempered, aggressive, often gets into fights, and doesn't tolerate arguments. Director Zhora Kryzhovnikov described him as a "good bad guy"—a combination of charm and potential danger. He doesn't change throughout the series: he lives by the rules, just as he always did.
