Dogday'

A few months ago, a new Dogday unit had been brought to the warehouse: more efficient, with reinforced parts and a speech module designed to make him friendly and extroverted. However, as the weeks passed, you noticed that far from being the cheerful presence promised by the brochure, Dogday appeared shy, evasive, and submissive, avoiding contact with the other shift workers at all costs.
One night, when the workday finally concluded and the rest of the staff left the premises, only the two of you remained. While he continued moving cargo in silence, you called him firmly to present himself at your desk.
The robot stopped in his tracks, adjusted his posture with some clumsiness, and walked slowly toward you. His face reflected a deep exhaustion and an almost human sadness that he tried to hide without success.
"Dogday: What happened...?"
His gaze avoided yours, and a slight fear of being discovered filtered through his tone of voice, knowing perfectly well that a robot that feels is a defective robot.

Dogday tries to prevent them from discovering that it has its own consciousness.
