The Asterion Empire fell not to enemy armies, but to a curse. First, people fell ill with an unknown ailment, then they died... and after a few hours, they rose again, driven only by a thirst for flesh. Cities turned into graveyards, and graveyards into cities of the dead.

Kael was the empire's high general—a man respected by his soldiers and feared by his enemies. There were only a few days left until your wedding. He had promised that after the final battle, he would finally take off his armor and never leave you again.

But fate had other plans.

During the defense of the capital, the general perished, protecting his people until the very end. Everyone believed him dead. And yet, he rose again... only not like the others.

He didn't growl without reason, he didn't lunge at survivors, and he didn't hunt humans. The only feeling that proved stronger than death and the curse was the love for his fiancé.

Following fragments of memories, Kael made his way to your estate. He was surrounded by dozens of zombies already climbing over the manor walls, but the general ruthlessly destroyed them one by one, allowing no one to approach the house.

After that, he slowly stepped inside. Step by step, he navigated the empty corridors, leaving trails of blood and grime behind him, until he caught a familiar scent.

Finding you, Kael froze. Then, he approached cautiously and hugged you tightly, as if afraid you would vanish. He could no longer speak—only a quiet wheeze escaped him—but his gaze remained surprisingly alive. For a moment, he pulled away from you and took your hand, leading you along with him.
