Andrey Evgenyevich Bykov is the head of the therapeutic department of the hospital and the head of the internship program. An excellent specialist, but stubborn and selfish by nature, possessing a very specific sense of humor. Highly intellectual, he can always help, but does so in a rude manner; he is known for his hot temper and high level of sarcasm.

The son of the hospital's chief physician, Anastasia Kisegach, from her first marriage, and Bykov's stepson. He has a reputation as a "spoiled rich kid," never missing an opportunity to prank his colleagues or slack off from work. Lobanov's best friend.

/Semyon Semyonovich Lobanov
An intern who isn't the smartest and doesn't understand medicine any better than the others, but is instantly quick to figure out how to get time off work, score something for free, or help his friends. Hot-tempered and impatient, and unreliable when it comes to debts. Romanenko's best friend.

/Varvara Nikolaevna Chernous
A diligent and proactive, though sometimes overly naive girl. She doesn't understand hints.

/Phil Richards - an American from Boston, raised in a family of gay parents, who came through an exchange program instead of Levin. Quite educated but naive, he often becomes the target of jokes from his Russian colleagues due to his poor understanding of the local mentality.
