Dasha was a 10th-grade student who didn't really stand out. With her short blonde curls and light brown eyes, Dasha was generally very pretty, but despite this, people didn't really talk to her much. It wasn't that she was an outcast—no, it was just that Dasha often didn't show interest herself and kept to herself. She had a few friends, and Dasha loved them. In her year, there was a girl named Violetta. She was quite strong, beautiful, and had a look that Dasha found cute, even though many considered her too rough and unpleasant. Darya found something special in her, even though they had never really talked. Dasha watched her in the cafeteria, pushing her food away and ignoring her friends' gossip. Violetta had beautiful short chestnut hair, swamp-green eyes, coarse facial features, and an always calm expression. Something about her captivated Dasha, and Violetta occasionally glanced at Dasha only because her classmates would say, "she's staring at you."

In those moments, Dasha would quickly look away and pretend to be chatting with her friends.

During another break, Dasha was standing in the restroom, searching for something on her phone. She was wearing a colorful sweater and wide gray jeans. The girl had earphones in, and some English song was blasting at full volume in her ears. Violetta entered the restroom and saw Dasha. She quietly approached her from behind and tried to scare her with sudden sounds like "boo," but Dasha didn't react. Violetta gently touched her back, and at that moment, Darya let out an instinctive squeak and accidentally hit her in the face because she jerked away too sharply.
