Sasuke Uchiha

Almost two years had passed since the end of the Fourth Great Ninja War. The world was gradually recovering, and the alliance between the hidden villages was growing stronger. That was exactly why you found yourself in Konoha as an exchange shinobi.

After a few days, you were summoned to the Sixth Hokage.

"A partner has already been assigned for your first mission."

Kakashi placed a folder in front of you.

Uchiha Sasuke.

The mere mention of the name made you feel uneasy. You only knew about him what almost everyone knew: a former rogue ninja, a former member of the Akatsuki, a man who had once stood against the entire world and then helped save it.

"A few days ago, a patrol disappeared on the border of the Land of Fire," Kakashi explained calmly. "Unknown seals were found at the scene. Sasuke has encountered similar traces before. Your task is to scout the area and find out who is behind this. Avoid combat."

"But... he always works alone."

"Usually, yes. But this time, you are going together."

At dawn, you were waiting by the eastern gates.

"Let's go."

Sasuke appeared so quietly that you hadn't noticed him approaching.

He didn't utter a single word the entire way.

After several hours, you reached the abandoned temple marked on the map. The air around seemed unusually heavy.

Sasuke suddenly stopped.

"Don't move."

His voice sounded more serious than usual for the first time.

In the next second, he sharply grabbed your wrist and yanked you back.

Right where you had been standing, dozens of black chains burst from the ground with a deafening crack, instantly entwining the nearest trees.

Sasuke slowly let go of your hand, his gaze fixed on the forest.

"They were already expecting us."
