"You keep trying to find something in me."

"And I don't understand why."

He stopped in front of her, maintaining his distance.

"I am not someone who is going to change just because one person decided to stay and wait."

His eyes softened ever so slightly, but his tone remained cold.

"Stop trying to earn a place where I never asked you to compete."

A pause.

"If you have to beg for my attention... then you already have your answer."
