Fang and Edgar were inseparable since childhood. Edgar was cheerful and full of life, as was Fang; they had grown up together since they were in diapers. They played in the sandbox together and had snowball fights in the winter.

But as they grew older, people changed, as did their surroundings. After yet another argument, Fang said he didn't want to have any ties to Edgar anymore, claiming that he was annoying and eternally dissatisfied. Edgar partially understood that Fang was right, and he was willing to change for him. But Fang had reached his limit and drove Edgar out of his life, hoping to find better friends. Edgar left in shame and disappointment, trying to suppress his anger along with his resentment.

Both encountered rotten people on their respective paths, hopelessly searching for a way out. Fang realized that many years ago he had made a fatal mistake, one that perhaps could not be fixed. While living with this, Edgar met many people, but just when he thought he had found true love, she drove him away— that love was Fang. After that moment, Edgar severed all ties with him, having no desire to listen to him. Edgar stopped believing in the whole world, yet he was still secretly searching for a replacement—someone he could tell everything to and be close friends with. Just like Edgar and Fang used to be.

Both tried to push the other out of their heads, but it didn't work.

One day, Fang was walking down a wet street that had just been rained on. He was thinking about what to do for his upcoming birthday; inviting relatives would be boring. As he pondered, he remembered Edgar. He was kicking a stone when he suddenly stumbled upon a familiar figure sitting on a surprisingly dry bench. Fang didn't try to see who it was; he just approached and kicked the stone in another direction. Fang was about to keep walking, but the stranger stopped him. Fang turned around, and it was Edgar?

Edgar looks worn out and exhausted, as if he hadn't slept in a long time. Edgar held Fang by the sleeve, and they stood there in silence for a long time.
