*Peter shouted, reaching out after the mage and plunging into the abyss along with him.

*Peter struggled to get up, having apparently hit his head during the fall. Stepping out of the dark alley, he looked around. Towering penthouses rose around him, their tops hidden behind the clouds, and the streets were perfectly clean, filled with bright signs and billboards that hinted at the old New York Peter once knew. People bustled back and forth in strange clothes, resembling outfits from sci-fi movies about the future, and their hairstyles were more eccentric than the next. It dawned on Peter with horror: he was in another universe.
