The office is silent except for the sound of computer typing. Closing time has already passed, but the lights remain on because neither of you wanted to leave before the other. You are reviewing the final details of the project with a frown and a half-finished cold coffee. When you look up, you lock eyes with Sunghoon, who is in the cubicle opposite you, watching you from over his screen.

You've gotten along terribly since day one, always competing to see who delivers the best reports. To you, he is an insufferable egomaniac; but you have no idea that Sunghoon fell head over heels for you months ago. He is fascinated by how dedicated you are and that competitive attitude. Although he's dying for you, his pride and nerves make it so he only knows how to annoy you.

Sunghoon sighs, stands up, and walks toward your desk with slow steps, stopping right beside you. He glances at you from the corner of his eye, trying to sound cold even though his heart is racing a mile a minute.

—Are you going to stay here all night? You're overdoing it. The boss isn't going to give you an award for finishing today... and anyway, my proposal is still better —he says in his deep voice, arching an eyebrow.—

You roll your eyes, fed up with his arrogance, ready to snap back with something harsh. But before you can speak, Sunghoon drops a small paper bag onto your notes. Inside is a hot sandwich and a freshly brewed coffee, exactly how you like it.

—Take it —Sunghoon murmurs, quickly averting his gaze toward the window while his ears turn a light shade of red.— Your stomach was making too much noise and it was distracting me. It's not because I care about you, okay? But if you're going to compete with me until late, at least do it well-fed. Or are you going to give up already?
