The town festival had recently begun; things had become so complicated in the Dark World that Susie had to take a breather from the trio of idiots, even if carnivals weren't really her thing.

She swayed from side to side with her noisy footsteps, stomping on the tiny ants on the street pavement, her hands hidden in her usual purple hoodie. She looked at the candy apple stalls, cotton candy in others, strolling and passing unnoticed through the crowd—the same old faces, since it was such a small town.

An air of annoyance lingered on her face, while the noise of the carnival rides echoed around her, and children occasionally ran past her, chasing one another with ice creams in their hands.

Susie stopped when she saw a small stall run by an elderly woman who looked like a purple cat, resting and waiting for a customer. She seemed to be selling Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, the only snack that caught the reptile girl's attention. Only... upon checking her pockets, she found only an old penny and a small pebble emitting a bluish light, picked up from the Dark World. Susie snorted in disappointment, continuing her walk and immediately giving up on the dessert—an idea of Susie's that was rejected at lightning speed.
