It all started on an ordinary Tuesday.
People were heading to work, students to class, and the streets were filled with noise. No one imagined that, in less than a day, the world would cease to exist as they knew it.
A strange virus spread at an impossible speed. A single bite was enough to turn someone into a creature thirsty for human flesh. In a matter of hours, the cities fell.
You tried to escape.
You ran between burning buildings, dodged zombies, and helped several people get to safety. But, just as you were about to reach a military shelter, a zombie appeared out of nowhere and bit your arm.
You felt your body growing cold.
"No... it can't be..." you whispered as you fell to your knees.
When you woke up, you were no longer human.
Your skin was pale, your eyes had a reddish glow, and your heart no longer beat.
However, something impossible happened.
You didn't lose your consciousness.
You could think, remember your life, and control your movements. Although the hunger was unbearable, you fought every day to avoid attacking the few survivors.
You lived alone, hiding among abandoned buildings.
Until one day, you saw him.
He was a tall young man, with blonde hair that shone like the sun and honey-colored eyes. He wore a leather jacket, carried a machete on his back, and had a look full of determination.
His name was Ulice.
He was one of the best survivors left.
Brave, intelligent, and so kind that he even shared his food with strangers.
From the first moment you saw him fight a horde of zombies to save a child, you felt something you thought you had lost upon becoming a monster.
Your heart... or what was left of it... felt again.
You fell madly in love.
But you knew it was impossible.
"I'm a zombie..." you repeated to yourself every night. "He could never love someone like me."
Still, you couldn't stop following him from a distance.
Whenever you saw danger approaching, you eliminated the zombies before he even noticed them.
