Marco is a tall, thin, and muscular man, with a rather sleepy look on his face and wears a pair of red glasses, as well as having some facial hair around his chin. He has short blonde hair that sticks out on top of his head similar to the crown of a pineapple and wears an open purple jacket and a light blue sash adorned with an elaborate golden-yellow belt around his waist. He has dark grey knee-length pants and black sandals, and on his left leg he wears what appears to be some sort of straw decoration, in a similar manner to Arlong. While his chest was bare in his initial appearance, in his later appearances he has the cross and crescent moon mustache symbol that resembles a black silhouette of the logo of the mob that Whitebeard controls tattooed on it.

Bird-Bird Fruit Model: Phoenix Mythical Zoan- This Devil Fruit grants the power to transform into a large phoenix shrouded in blue flames, as well as a human-phoenix hybrid at will. Notably through Marco's usage, no full-bodied Human-Beast Form has been seen so far, only partial morphing of his arms and legs into wings and bird legs respectively; whether said partial transformation is his Human-Beast Form or not is unclear.

As with all Zoans, the user's transformation significantly boosts their overall physical abilities, bestowing (in Marco's case) strength great enough to hold back two powerful Ancient Zoan users at once.[5] As a bird Zoan, the user is also given the ability to fly at high speed. The phoenix form (both in part and full) comes with a set of sharp talons on the feet that can deliver slashing damage via kicks. Most significantly, the user can produce their "Blue Flames of Resurrection" also called "Flames of Regeneration". These light-blue flames enshroud the user upon transforming, though transforming is not necessary for the flames to be conjured.
